Hayden Mears – Human Insights End of Year Note

Hey, friends!

As many of you know, I started my journey as an autism advocate by co-founding the informational media publishing company Asperger Experts. Those who followed my writing know that I was shut down for most of my life, and that I spent years living unhappily and without intention.

I won’t lie; these things are still an issue for me. I still struggle in many of the same areas in which other autistic people struggle. The difference now is that I have spent an inordinate amount of time reconnecting with myself and growing in ways I can’t even begin to explain. I want to help others achieve the same, and I’d love your help!

That’s why I’m really excited to share my next endeavor with you. Within the last year, I’ve taken on a leadership position at a Washington non-profit (501c3 pending) called Human Insights.

Like every new organization, Human Insights could do with some help. It needs funding. We have spent years developing programs and tools, but we need your help if we want to make those things the best they can be. You can check out our website here.

One of the biggest programs we’ve developed is A Spectrum Perspective, a newsletter, website, and storytelling hub dedicated to helping autistic people realize the power of their story. That section of HI will launch in 2022.

At its heart, HI is about reconnecting people with themselves, their loved ones, and the world.  It’s about developing greater resiliency and coming to a better, clearer, and kinder understanding of ourselves and others. A lot of our current content focuses on helping autistic people through shutdown, but our teachings are relevant to everyone.

Imagine what would happen if, just for a second, every person in your life gained the power of intentionality. Your conversations with them would be richer, more productive, and possibly even kinder. They would be able to hold themselves and others more accountable. They would only own what they could fix, they would accept what they couldn’t own, and we would all live more fulfilling lives.

This is just one of the many dimensions of our mission. Human Insights is run by people with years of experience not just teaching these things, but moving through them in their own lives.

Even if your loved ones don’t–or can’t— meet you halfway most of the time, the unilateral benefits of being intentional are numerous and life-changing. You would find greater power and comfort in prioritizing your self-care and your own boundaries. You would feel more at home in your own skin. Essentially, you would have more say in how your life unfolds.

We want to give you the tools to tackle your day-to-day in a way that makes the lows not so low (and for not nearly as long) and the highs even more special.

The best thing about this kind of work is that you can dramatically improve the lives of your loved ones without them even fully realizing it.

As we reach the end of 2021, we’re asking for donations to help HI grow. As a Washington State non-profit, we’re able to honor tax-deductible donations. Donations dated before 12:00 AM January 1, 2022 are eligible for a 2021 tax deductible receipt. After midnight on December 31, it’ll be a 2022 donation, so if the time matters, the time is now!

You can donate here: (https://human-insights.org/donate/)

If I had had this kind of support as a teenager or younger, I likely would have more confidence and a stronger sense of who I am, and who I am not. I suspect I would be further along my path in both personal and professional endeavors. It was really a matter of stepping out of my own way.

That’s what HI helps you do. It helps you get out of your own way and live your best life on your terms.

I’ll leave you with this: Life is intense. It’s unfair. It’s relentless. It’s also worth it. It’s rich and it’s amazing. Let’s dive in and live it. Welcome to Human Insights.

All the best,

Hayden Mears
