What’s in your toolbox?
What’s in your toolbox? We feel that knowing what tools you have, what skills you can access and use, is important. Sometimes if you’re really struggling, you might benefit from having a list of tools and resources to help you remember where to turn, and what to do next, to get back to ‘better regulated’. Let’s explore that.
What kind of toolbox do you have? Wood? Metal? Does it more resemble a drawer? If it helps you, draw it out. We have some clip art to help if that’s enough to go on.
What goes in there? Let’s inventory your tools as you go. List them out, and include relevant pages behind this one.
Examples of tools include soothers, people, meditation, blanket forts, and other skills and items that help you calm or focus. The more tools you have, the more options you have. As you work through the pages on this website, it is our hope that you will develop a robust tool box that will help you on your journey.
