At Human Insights, the privacy of our visitors is of extreme importance to us. This privacy policy document outlines the types of personal information that is received and collected by Human Insights (dbaa Spectrum Insights Neighborhood, The Community Resiliency Project) and how it is used.
Who on our team has access
Members of our team only have access to the information you provide to us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
- Order information, such as what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information, such as your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Other members (for example, our minecraft moderator team) will have access to:
- Support Tickets
- Previous support interactions.
- Data provided by parent or guardian.
We limit the information team members may access based on their job role and function.
What we share with others
We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example:
Payments
We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Advertising
Facebook Advertising
These third-party ad servers our ad networks use technology to generate the advertisements and links that appear on Human Insights, and then send these directly to your browsers. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. Other technologies ( such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons ) may also be used by the third-party ad networks to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and / or to personalize the advertising content that you see.
Human Insights has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.
You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information on their practices as well as for instructions about how to opt-out of certain practices. Human Insights’s privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites.
If you wish to disable cookies, you may do so through your individual browser options. More detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers can be found at the browsers’ respective websites.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Shopping
While shopping on our site, we’ll track:
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to(for example) products you’ve recently viewed.
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping, and compatibility with our site.
- Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and to send you the order!
We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.
When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information to:
- Send you information about your account and order
- Respond to your requests, including purchases, refunds and complaints
- Process payments
- revent fraud
- Set up your account for our store
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as tax calculation and reporting
- Improve our store offerings
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 4 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.
Security
Our website uses specialist security software – Human Insights Shield. This helps to ensure data breaches do not occur and our website and data are protected against hacking attempts and intrusion.
Human Insights Shield protects site visitors and works to block potential hacks while monitoring web traffic and filesystem changes.
Cookies
- The Human Insights Shield plugin never stores any sensitive, personally identifiable information in any cookie at any time.

- In the case that the Human Insights Shield plugin needs to redirect a visitor or any request, it may use a cookie to prevent repeated/infinite redirect loops.
- For registered/logged-in users, the Human Insights Shield plugin uses a cookie to track user sessions and control display of certain in-plugin admin notices.
- The Human Insights Shield plugin does not normally use Cookies for unregistered site visitors. It may however use a cookie to register the closure of the Human Insights Shield security badge to prevent repeated display.
Data Storage: User Sessions
For logged-in users, the Human Insights Shield plugin stores information on the username, the IP address and the time of last login and last activity.
This information is purged upon logout or data cleanup.
Data Storage: Audit Trail
The Human Insights Shield plugin has an Audit Trail feature that will log the following information:
- Audit Trail message that may include email addresses
- Logged-in username (where applicable)
- Originating IP address of the request
For logged-in users this represents information that may be used to locate (by IP address) and identify individuals and their activity on the site.
This information is stored for security purposes by the site administrator.
This data will be retained and then automatically purged from the database after a fixed time period, as determined by the site administrator. (Currently this is set to 14 days.)
Courses
We store course progress, including completion status, quiz scores, assignments and/or essay submissions (if applicable).
We will also store comments on courses, lessons, topics, assignments, and essays if you choose to leave them.
For the purposes of processing recurring subscription payments, we store the customer’s name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number and credit card/payment details.
Log Files
Like many other Websites, Human Insights and Spectrum Insights Neighborhood Minecraft Service makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol ( IP ) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider ( ISP ), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information, are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
Human Insights does use cookies to store information about visitors preferences, record user-specific information on which pages the user access or visit, customize Web page content based on visitors browser type or other information that the visitor sends via their browser.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
